It's that time of year again!
For one brief week or so every spring - and no frosts or hailstorms permitting - I go up the garden lots of times each day to enjoy my wonderful magnolia Athene. It's my favourite magnolia. The flowers are so perfect and the scent divine. I just can't help burying my nose in it. Can anyone ID the purplish one? I got it in a sale but it had lost its name. Doing a bit of research it looks like Felix Jury???? Whatever it is, it is certainly a showstopper - especially given the daft price I paid for it! Given the lovely weather we have had I think the magnolias are the best I have seen in years.
It's also that time for another favourite of mine - Staphylea holocarpa roses. What a !overly plant. I am due to move house soon and am so sad these plants are too big to take with me.
