Post .... into Eastern Cape
After leaving Lesotho we drove through the dry expanses of the Great Karoo on the way to Cradock. here we stayed in a lovely Victorian cottage:

Then on to Addo Elephant Park, with an attractive lodge. There was a neat outdoor shower protected by a bamboo screen:

We went to the beach at Jeffreys Bay and I noticed the absence of coconut palms:

Then on to Tsitsikamma National Park close to the border with Western Cape. I'll show more of this marvellous park next time, but this is the lodge:

There were huge rough-barked eucs nearby but I couldn't identify them:

Near spectacular!
Aloidendron barbarae is the large tree Aloe...the red flowers on the tree behind the Bangalow palms are probably Spathodea campanulata.African Tulip Tree.
If you could make the photos larger Phil it would help to see the details.

I use PhotoBucket to resize them automatically. If I upload them direct from my computer there are annoying links to click on.

If you click on the image in the thread, it loads into a new photobucket page. There is a 'magnifying-glass' tool there that will enlarge the image, probably to its original uploaded size.

Now that I try..its still the same size. You're losing some real definition of your photos if they always store at that size,Phil. And then of course I might still be not doing something right. But,I click on image...same size.
Photos from Africa should fill the screen!

Ah,much better!..Now I see them full sized and very clear. Nice to see the Aloe's and cycads used as exotic city landscaping. So far, only Sago is used in the bay area and..a few soap aloes or A.striata. None of the bigger types used.
