Palms and Eucalyptus are taking a beating in California. Once people hear they are bad,its hard to stop the dogma. Nice Euc by my house.

In Johannesburg you aren't allowed to plant eucalyptus according to my tour guide over there. Yet there are extensive eucalypt plantations all over South Africa outside the cities, which would have a greater impact on the environment than urban plantings.
