Thanks for sharing, what sort of Bromeliads are on the trunk of the Tracky? How did you fix them to the trunk. Howdy neighbour. |

Hi the bromeliads on the truck are aechmea recurvata ,fascicularia bicolour and tillandsia bergeri, i was up arthog falls today , love it up there , there was a giant beech tree half way up which had lost most of the top probably wind damage ,so i took a few branches to mount a few bromeliads on you can see in the picture |

Nice- every year people are getting more creative on the tropical look. Nice to see a Trachycarpus used for epiphytes in England. Also- as Carlos has pointed out- hardy sedums could be used also and who know's what else? I thought for a second you had mounted a Sago on that tree trunk. It might work. |

Intriguing pictures! What species are you growing? Have many been out since before the 'bad winters'? If so, which and how bad did it get for you there? |

Thanks Paul all the bromeliads are the ones you suggest in your writeup on hardy bromeliads ,i do have a few dyckia from seed Which were selected by a collector from Brazil for there cold hard which do well against the rain shelter of the house , I'm on a stretch of coast which face's north so the cold evil winter wind gets the edge nocked of it, we do get a few days of frost but never more than -5 |

Yes there the dyckia ,look better in the summer ,the big fern is Blechnum cycadifolium and the small are the squirrel foot fern which was doing great until a mouse started eating it. |

Fantastic looking collection - for some reason Postimage is not letting me see larger images right now. I'll check again later. |

Marko, I tried to grow some on a Tracky Trunk some 4 or 5 years ago and failed miserably. I wouldn't mind seeing how the experts do it if you can spare me 5 minuets some time. |
