I snapped this photo the other day can anyone give me a name for this stunning looking plant I should not mind having a go at trying to get one to flower....loving the foliage too?

Nice spot John yes I am going to put a few photos on the forum soon this I could not find a label of possibly my fav flower too.

Stan I thought Banksia as well but such strange leaves for this spp

I'm guessing that was in The Great Glasshouse?

Banksia coccinea [I agree the ID Stan] is notorious in Australia for not growing on the east coast.

It hastes summer moisture either at the root or in the air and succumbs to Phytophthora.

If it is under cover that would explain the unexpected persistence of a 'bloom' of indumentum on the leaves that would have warn off in the open.
