Tree Ferns of U.C. Berkeley.
THIS is when I wish I could post large photos. You will have to enlarge. I thought I had the name of the Mexican fern native Oaxaca. The label photo has a glare. D.A. trunks
Angiopteris lygodiifolia
Sphaeropteris sp. The last name was with a H?..
Cyathea fulva
Spaeropteris horrida- a beautiful gold tree fern.
D.A.'s again.
Dicksonia squarrosa
I have many other fern photos..Cycads,succulents. To be soon posted. Thanks!

That's a nice selection of tree ferns Stan. I particularly like the C. horrida.
One of my favourite Cyathea pics is the one below (from a Flickr stream on the Mexican rainforest... so I hope the owner will forgive me for publishing it!). It's another New World species from Mexico, C. princeps. It's the sheer size of the fern compared to the girl at the bottom of the picture that's so impressive !!

wow- Valdy is that really not a camera angle? Huge! I've seen C.princeps growing in the Lath House in Balboa Park in San Diego, It was tall, but it still was not the massive tree fern C.medullaris is. In our climate,C.medullaris will get like it does in habitat if watered enough.
