I bought one about 15 years ago and kept it a greenhouse that had nothing to increase humidity. It quickly died. I would guess though that you still have a chance outdoors as it for sure can take warmer temperatures then Gunnera maniculata. Also,a dappled shade Pierre where you are would beat the conditions I had. Not much written on the net on it other then from Oaxaca. |

Thanks Stan. I never heard from this Gunnera before. It probably needs an adapted spot. Maybe it is worth a try. |

I've seen it growing in a botanical garden in Xalapa, Veracruz, which is down the wet east side. I'd say it needs humidity and constant access to water, same as the other Gunnera spp. |

Thanks Paul. So outside an oceanic climate it is going to be quite difficult to grow. |

That would be my guess, Pierre. Maybe also sourcing material to try might be a challenge! |

I can imagine that, but when a plant is worth a try we finally find it. The actual difficulty often is : where is some place left in the garden ? |

That sounds remarkably familiar... |
