Re: Anybody heard the lifspan of Aloe polyphylla?
I have one that's 15 years old (bought it as a small seedling) and still going strong. It's in a big pot, exposed to the elements from April to October. Over winter I move the pot to the overhang by my front door. So it is more or less dry, and prob gets a bit of extra warmth from the wall of the house, but is still essentially outdoors.
With proper care Aloe poly should go on indefinately.

Aloe polyphylla ironically does not like excess heat. Out of habitat in Lesotho, it is very difficult to keep alive in SA I was at Kirstenbosch in Cape Town in December. There were a few plants in an Alpine section, but they really looked like they were struggling. Mine in the depths of a UK winter looked happier!
