End story for my tree-fern experiences on the forums!
Photobucket has taken away everything it will return unless we pay € 399.-. We will not do that! To me, this is too much work to recover, I do not know which pictures it's about Eduard.

Eduardo
How rotten of them.
Have you lost the original photos as well? If so some forumists may have copied your superb pix and could send them to you if need be.

Same here. I thought PB was getting good free publicity from the photo views. I guess they are now so desperate for income they are extorting people.

Re: End story for my tree-fern experiences on the forums!
I had this happen with the free service I used when first starting to look in at plant forums, there is no realistic way of re posting all the images (although I have them all stored here) Have a look at 'Flickr' for any future new pics, I find it easy to use, I started out using it for free but now pay the modest yearly charge for unlimited use. But anyone effected please do carry on taking and posting pictures, when its raining, cold or something has just gone belly up it is quite often your pictures that fire my enthusiasm and keep me going

Yes actually it's an ilegal act, first giving us free access and then ask afterwards money and take away everything. [Extortion] Fortunately, I have my original pictures, will try to fix it slowly, as far as I can check which photos it was Eduard.

I started slowly restoring, but it will take a long time to take a lot of pictures, and I have to figure out which ones were right, took 2 hours for the first 2 pages, ''Tree ferns after 40 years" Another 24 to go Yes George Photobucket want money!! Eduard.

wow! Its not just the old price to do what we have been doing for 14 years. NO,they want $400 in order to post on websites or your own blog.! https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/06/3 ... party_pgs/Doesn't this remind you of those Ransomewhare demands?. Sure it does.

Seemingly, one can still host pics on photobucket for free if one stays under the 2 GB storage threshold. Let's see if this holds.

Re: End story for my tree-fern experiences on the forums!
I think Kev tried deleting loads of older pictures but it made no difference so I am wondering if the number of views triggers the demand for money? Poor behavior to do it without warning and retrospectively.
I think the restrictions on Flickr are so many picture per month but there is no actual upper limit, but having had the annoyance of this happening to me once before I decide to pay the per year Flickr sub (which is no where near as much as this bunch of pirates are trying to get)

They've changed the rules with image linking. That wasn't there originally.

Re: End story for my tree-fern experiences on the forums!
Not only this; I just noticed, that my free 2 GB account is declared 89% full, despite the above pic being only 2.9 MB large and being the only one hosted. I can't upload any further pics.
Clearly a violation of the rules.
I'm moving to Flickr.
