Re: persicaria id please
I was chatting to a nurseryman about this a few months ago and there have been doubts expressed that it is different to what is circulating as Filiformis here, which exhibits the same markings when grown in shade. It could be that Brushstrokes is just the name used for the same plant circulating in the US. Just to add to the mix, 'Lance Corporal' is supposed to have smaller leaves even though it looks identical to Filiformis.
However, possibly the best amd most reliable person for further clarification and a source of this plant in Europe is who is a expert and is based in Belgium. He occasionally crosses over and does plant fairs here, perhaps you can catch him in one of those fairs if he can't send via post.

Re: persicaria id please
This one was first seen in the UK at great Dixter. Bck in August I asked Chris Ghyselen if he had this one or knew where to get it. He hoped to get it at a plant fair in the UK last october. Not sure this is the Great Dixter fair or somewhere else. I hope he has it now and will propagate it in great numbers....

Re: persicaria id please
Just bumping this thread as I picked up a Persicaria recently at a local nursery. It was labelled as P 'tovara' but with a query. The nursery owner told me she'd got it from Great Dixter years ago and labels had got mixed up, but the other possibility was 'Brushstrokes'. To me, it looks more like the images I've seen of 'Brushstrokes'. It's still quite a small plant but with quite large leaves already.
Whatever it is, I rather like it.
Pete
