Post Spore germination
During February and March I sowed about 50 pots of fern spore. Mainly Blechnum, Pyrossia, Asplenium, and some other bits and pieces.
Have had mixed results with germination

Some of the pots have had no movement . 6 months or so later.
At what point do I give up on these?

If you can not see development after 6 months, you can assume that they do not have germination power!

Thanks
At least I will have space in my propagator for more pots next spring.

So I have been keeping the spore pots of spore/prothalli in my (unheated) garage, on a bright windowsill.

Now, with winter approaching, do I leave them where they are?
Or bring them indoors into a heated room.
Temps in the garage prob 2 or 3 *C above freezing on a really cold night

Indoors. North facing window. Bright but no direct sunlight.

Pictures would help, as they say more than words; show us what you did and we might be able to give a better advice.

Kind regards,
Remko.

This temperature is far too low, for better results, preferably between 15 and 24ºC inside the house with the conditions indicated by Bart.

I moved my pots indoors yesterday evening.
Checked them all, and they had done better than I initially thought. Approx 3/4 had some prothalli, even if it was just a few.
Considering it was my first attempt, am pleased.
