Post 1st Post - australian plant
Hello, I am new to this forum and it is my first post. My garden is located in western Germany in rainy Z 7b. Since 1995 I am growing exotic plants in our garden.

Also, I am running the german-board http://members3.boardhost.com/Exoten/

A friend of mine send me a photo from Australia, were he came by a red flowering plant in hotel garden. Anyone knows the name?

Thanks,
Michael

Welcome to the board Michael.

Odontonema tubaeforme is a Mexican sub shrub that is surprisingly hardy [USA zone 8], but needs more summer heat to establish than I get outside.

It is a member of the Acanthaceae and used to be called Justicia tubaeformis.

Chad.
