I had always thought they were just bushes, but I´ve learnt that there are a lot of species and varieties. Some of them are trees.

It's been a relatively mild winter in London too (by UK standards), though we've had lows of -2 in early December (and more frosts forecast for the next few nights) so the flowers have been zapped. It's still got its leaves and some healthy looking buds though, so I'm hoping it will soon recover once spring arrives...
