outback trip 2
On the way back from Lake Eyre we saw the inflow to another salt lake, Lake Cadibarrawirracanna. The vegetation close to the lake was mainly chenopods.
Now we are in the Northern Territory. Mt Conner is a mesa on the way to Uluru.
Now some shots of Uluru ( Ayers Rock ) and Kata Tjuta ( Olgas )
Desert casuarinas were everywhere:
classic sunset view
Next was Kings Canyon
40c temperatures amongst the river red gums
Next thread I will show my first coconut palm some distance south of Tennant Creek. I think Alice Springs is too cold for them but the climate changes rapidly as you head further north.

great pictures. My favorites are the "savannas" with Allocasuarina decaisneana. If it would not be that far away ....

Thanks for posting Phil of somewhere we will never get to see first hand love the sunset view of Ayers Rock.
