Re: outback trip 5
Some other photos of Yellow Water, Kakadu:
I think the palm is Livistona benthamii
water lilies and pandanus
Nourlangie Rock
I thought Edith Falls was Paradise until I saw Florence Falls in Litchfield National Park the palm above the swimming hole is Carpentaria acuminata
A species of Callitris is native to northern Australia
A native suckering palm growing below the falls is Hydriastele wendlandiana
Carpentaria acuminata
After leaving the Top End we backtracked to Tennant Creek then took the Barkly Highway east. It's only another 446 km to the Queensland border!

A couple of crocodile pictures if YouTube doesn't work for you. Swimming in Yellow Water would be tantamount to committing suicide!

Re: outback trip 5
The great thing about Australia is the potential for a road trip. I remember jumping in a car in Brisbane and getting out 27 hours later in coastal Western VIC. My 5 hour drive to Auckland is just not the same somehow...
Tropical and outback Aussie are great, but no coincidence most of the population live near the coastal regions between Brisbane and Adelaide! If I moved back over there I think Coffs Harbour would be about right...
Thanks for the pictures.
