About three years ago I bought from Vale Exotics a small Tree fern marked up as C. Celebica it turned out the pot contained three separate plants all are still alive and well two I’m sure are cooperi but this third is nothing like the others it’s very Red nothing like the straw colours of the other two . Any ideas please ?

A guess from a non-expert: Cyathea brownii.

Re: Tree Fern ID please
Hi Stuart
I haven’t grown Cyathea celebica myself but the description of it is of dark stipes (as opposed to green) and it should have distinct spines on the stipes and bases. Those 2 features would separate it from Cooperi or brownii which have rough warty stipes but not spiney.
