Post Calotropis gigantea
Seed of Calotropis gigantea has recently been offered for sale.

Seed for the less exciting Calotropis procera is more commonly offered.

Has anyone any first hand experience of growing either of these?

C.gigantea is not supposed to be hardy, but there are reports of it growing back from heavily mulched rootstocks after mild frost.

C.procera may be 'hardy' to -10C but I suspect that is for a very brief freeze and not a long cold British winter.

As food plants for the caterpillars of USA Monarch butterflies both are grown in The USA.
