Stan is on the floor. His hand stretching for a telephone a few mm out of reach. The phone is off the hook. An engaged tone is sounding. A carton of milk has fallen to the floor and is being lapped up by the cat. NCIS is on the television droning quietly away.

I almost posted that! Yep,I'm one block from where sidewalks are bent..or where they used to be as the city replaced them as they gained infamy  I have a few cracks in drywall. Got to fix them soon. That 4.4 was pretty good being so close. I only hope my foundation is up to the big one- these old wood houses can float on big quakes..its the foundation and various gas you have to worry about.
I was here for the 6.point something in 1988. Water from my 240 gallon aquarium sloshed out of the tank...I saw hanging plants in the back yard swing like a pendulum- really. Knick knacks on shelves fell off.
The other day? Woke me up..but no damage.
The Mango tree is fine-whew!
