Plant id anyone
Any ideas on this plant from Ecuador apparently an 8ft inflorescense on the floor nearby so its a Puya right?

Certainly looks like a Puya, Kev. Doesn't resemble any that are in the loop so that just leaves a couple of hundred other possibilities! Tom Hart-Dyke has a collection of something like 150 from seed he collected in habitat and most don't have names, just location data.

Certainly a nice looking plant, picture taken by Sean Barton, like the colouration whether that is down to growing conditions or not is the thing. I guess it may just be green coloured in more ideal areas

There is a different brom in circulation - Dyckia 'Britannia' - that has a similar look to this one and may be hardy. Certainly smaller and more easily managed.
