It does not help itself trying to grow through winter so far it has seen -5.5c

Strong plant Kev, I have already said it once, normal this temperature is the death blow, especially if it is so cold all night!

February is historically our coldest month this fern needs to stop growing now today's 14c will not help with that fact though

Quite remarkable! I wonder if it might actually be that other cooperi-a-lke that was doing the rounds a few years ago (but never quite made it to SE Essex!). Steve Pope had it, for example.
