At $3 per Avocado at the Market, this guy has planted up what I think is a frost free hillside- south facing. If I knew the guy,I would advise him to try Mangoes. He's got a banana of some type. And with some plants along the way...mini Horses too. Ficus benjamina..a climate changing plant I say. Tecomaria capensis. Palmy. Spring. The Dooby bros "Avocado Grove"..a classic. Nanner Citrus..lemons? Blooming Avocado's. Cute little guy huh? A little bit of everything..Agave even. Part of a real wine making vineyard in town. The local Brothers are growers. CIDP and Daylillys. TALL philodendron. More spring. Spring 3 End with blue Iris. Thanks! |

Stan, your neck of the woods may be way overpriced, overpopulated and underwatered, but it sure is pretty! Way more subtropical than here... I'm jealous. |

I want to point out that the commercial Avocado orchards around San Diego are 500 miles (The Proclaimers!) south of here and that's what makes this special. |

Avocados are more coldhardy than mangos ; some of them can grow against walls in mild Britany at about North 48° latitude. |
