Pseudodrynaria coronans and Platyceriums.
It takes a cloudy to take a decent photo of these two. The P.bifuractum is the exact same age the Afrocarpus gracilor tree its growing in..planted in 1978. The P.coronans goes back to 2006. It nearly died on me when I did a very poor pot up. I rotted all but a few rhizomes. The P.bifurcatum was defoliated in 1990.but in 3 years it looked good again. Its slowing climbing up that tree- cats break off fronds every now and then. Its a good tree for nesting birds. I have wire fencing to stop cats..but they find a way. I would say the P.corons is looking better then any time I've had it...great color and it too seems to attaching to the tree. I just keep piling on more moss between it and the tree to help.

Do you have that Pseudodrynaria in full sun or in the shade? A nice one!

Re: Pseudodrynaria coronans and Platyceriums.
Thanks Martin. A sunny day is always makes for a nice short drive and new plants to spot. That Platy Mo,is so old Its almost part of the family. Or is!
Julio..its mostly shade this time of year. But as the sun goes higher it gets a few morning hours. Its even better for it. It was down to a few rhizomes a few years ago. NEVER plant these in soils. Maybe in the perfection of a greenhouse...but outdoors in cool weather they will rot. Orchid spagnum is best..that really does wonders and is getting harder and harder to find. I used to just use basket moss..but once I tried that spaghnum,I saw a huge difference in all my tree lover plants.
