Tropical bamboo I.D. needed..thanks
I have seen this neighborhood boo for at least three years.Originally the culm was golden with thin green stripes. After all these years it has faded to whiteish. To help me indentify this plant i can tell you it is only sold as a house plant for a very high price. It also is said to be too tropical by Pacific Horticulture Magazine as i recall,in a old old, issue, to be grown outdoors.Yet,there it is. Any name come to mind? I imagine it is also sold as a indoor plant in Europe.

Well,i know now!. I just couldn't remember the name.Same old problem. Seeing these for $75 to well over a hundred dollars i wondered if it could grow outdoors. The article I read mentioned that those big 6" culms sold as interior plants sometimes never root. Big cuttings that take a year to die.

Unfortunately, there are a few establishments that sell plants like that and they're not confined to bamboos either!
