Moving Acacia dealbata
I have an A. dealbata which, under pressure from the light of my life (alternatively she who must be obeyed), needs to be moved from its present site. Its presently about 5M high and has been in its present site for about 3 years, its grown very quickly although it hasnt flowered for me yet.
Does anyone have any experience of moving them? I would like to keep it as its such an attractive tree and I love the pale green smooth bark with its pale purple stripes.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I couldn't agree more with Jose. There is always the future stability problem as well...

Although I agree with the people above about dealbata's not loving re-planting I had to replant one last summer (!).
We were moving, and I had to take all my plants with me. Having had such a nice cool summer with lots of rain, both my Acacia dealbata (aprox 2 y old, 1 year in full ground) and Albizia julibrissin (6 y old and in full ground) survived very nicely!
I'm wondering if the Acacia will survive this winter, because last year we didn't have any winter, but we'll just see.
Kind regards,
Remko.

Well if we get a serious winter here they are gone. Acacia dealbata subalpina should be hardier, even till minus 17 C.
