Ewen surprised about your Agave attenuata as mine will not take my heated lagged greenhouse without quite bad damage to the leaves strange!

You have some lovely plants there Ewen. Agave gypsophila is a new one for me, looks like one to look out for.
Kev, perhaps your heated lagged greenhouse is too damp for Agave attenuata. It should be fine down to 0c with good air circulation.

Good point Michael I must admit the greenhouse has no air circulation not to easy to achieve and still keep the warmth in for the other more tender plants hmmmm!!

Ewen, that Opuntia has grown at a fantastic rate. The one you gave me is doing very well to, I have cut one of the pads off mine so I can try it outside next year, so it will be interesting to see what happens.
Some great growth rates there. Love the Dyckia, I remember you getting that and not being very impressed with it but it's turned out a stunner.

Nope, I haven't come across that one in Mexico yet. I have heard of a place where I could see it, but evidently its within a gated community ( I know, a gated community in Mexico, who would have thought....) so its not easy to get to.

Ewen, you have some beautiful plants there! Just to avoid you making the same mistake, I tried to plant Dyckia marnier lapostollei out to trial over winter....not a shred of hardiness, I'm sorry to say. Makes a lovely potted plant though.
The Agave 'Cornelius' I have seen in a number of Agave collections in Belgium and Holland. In my opinion, a curiosity, rather than a thing of beauty. Still, each to their own!

Thanks for the shots Ewen. I'm growing Agave 'Cornelius', as I believe it should be known. I have a little one, but I can't say I like it much. It's a runty variegated thing. Sorry to say that your A. ovatifolia is not the real deal. Could that have been purchased from a certain Midlands trader?
