Puya, I understand your point and it is a valid one.
My concern with the Daily Mail is the scare mongering lies that they happily publish as facts. For example I read it a couple of years ago and they were giving stats on how many illegal immigrants we have in this country. I'd love to know how they gathered that information, considering the fact that illegal immigrants don't register themselves in any way.
Now whether you personally think illegal/legal immigration is an issue in this country is entirely your opinion. What does bother me is when newspapers like the Daily Mail invent "facts" to make their readers steer their opinions in a certain direction.
Ofcourse the Daily Mail is not the only culprit, most newspapers behave in this fashion. Infact there's very little real journalism left out there. But I find that people read things like the Daily Mail, are then horrified by the "truth" and are jaded by other papers that don't print the same thing, labelling them as "PC".
For example, watching BBC news on TV, as opposed to Sky News. As annoying as BBC news can be, I've always found they try to stick to the "facts", and let the viewer make up their own mind and you very rarely hear the personal opinion of the news reader. Where as Sky News does everything it can to scare the shit out of you so you shut all you windows, lock your family in a room with food supplies because all the criminals are out to get us!!!

FFS I did a good deed and thought I'd share a positive article about a heatwave, which happens to be very good for gardens and instead get the usual lefty crowds throwing the stones......
Bring back Peter R, this forum is dying.

I think it's time to get this thread back onto gardening. Neither side is going to convince the other of the Daily Mail's merits/demerits.
I'm going to restrain my urge to keep arguing about politics and I trust that everyone else will do the same.
