Re: Rhododendron rex
Tim, as I see, you pots are pretty small - one cross per pot and all under the cover? Do you use additional heating and light?

Re: Rhododendron rex
Yes I use 4" (10 cm) pots. One seed pack per pot. I cover each pot with a plastic bag and place under lights for 17 hours per day.

Re: Rhododendron rex
The temperatures are positive during the day here as well and snow is gone more than a week ago but it will be some night frosts still. I considering removal of protection as well, but it is good also against deer ...

Re: Rhododendron rex
It's nice to see the ARS 2013 R. arboreum ssp. cinnamomeum O.P. seedling looking great after a low temperature of 0F (-18C) this winter. The pollen donor for this O.P. cross must by hardier than cinnamomeum.

Good looking plants, Tim. I don't think temperatures here got as low as 0F, but came close to that.

Re: Rhododendron rex
Mo, please post some photos of your Rhododendrons!
Anne, great looking rex and fictolacteum. I'm impressed your big leafers are tolerating your climate.....great stuff to learn. Any blooms in your garden?
R. asterochnoum seedling starting to flush.
