Transplanting Meyer Lemon to ground..
For near 20 years or more, I have had a improved dwarf Meyers Lemon in a old ceramic beer vat with a hole drilled for drainage. Well, the last ten years it shared that pot with a huge Agave attenuata. I decided enough is enough after the wife said she would like the Lemon planted in ground. Today,I divided the two and after some grunting and sweat got the old tree in the ground where it's in line with Brugmansia "Charles Grimaldi" a Hydrangea the wife grew from a cutting from a freinds house, and a Chamedorea plumosa. Out of view in lone also are Brugmansia "Frosty pink"..amazingly I mentioned that plant here on the GOTE, a few days ago. Amazing because I thought it had died years ago. After removing a English Laurel, and some serious pruning of "Charles Grimaldi"..there she was- in bloom too. Pruning, and this old house re-plumbed with now much more water pressure has revitalized my yards. The "back from the dead " are adding up.
Well, I digress. Another plant in line in this side yard is Phoenix rupicola..slow growing and not very drought tolerant for a Phoenix palm..but hardy enough.
And as you can see the Meyer Lemon took to being moved. Planted in a large pot- in garden soil, not potting soil- it was heavy..but held the rootball when I picked it up.
Meyer Lemons for EVERYBODY..soon.
