Post strange germination problem, can anyone help?
I had a reasonably large amount of seed of Toona ciliata australis, the "Red Cedar" of Australian East Coast rainforest areas. I sowed it evenly into three identical trays, with identical propagation media, and put them side by side in my unheated open-ended tunnel. They have had the same amount of water. One of the trays has hundreds of seedlings, the other two have not got any. How has this happened? I've been able to discount predation by rats, slugs, snails etc. Moisture, light and temperature levels are identical. Any ideas? :?:
