The late Inga Hoffman palm garden with bonus.
This is about her garden and neighbors. But! I have another block of photos of some nice home landscaping for ..well,soon. I cant tell you what the tall Ceroxylon is. If Troy is out there he can ID the palms.
Thanks!

Thanks for posting those pictures, Stan. Interesting to see how small the garden is. To think, back in the day, she ran an international seed business from there! She was who we all bought our palm seeds from before Toby Spanner started up.

Re: The late Inga Hoffman palm garden with bonus.
It is on a very quiet side street Thur in a neighborhood of storybook homes from the 1930's.
Paul- I could only take photo's of the front gardens. She had an equally famous Cactus garden. I could make out one large Pasacana. If you look very close you can spot it about 12-14' tall. Internet photos I have seen showed she had some very large and colorfully spined big Pasacana species.
This area is close to where my brother once lived and it has GREAT deep, black loamy soils. Its no wonder everything I saw in that neighborhood looked king sized. Its also virtually frost free. Not 100%..but most years it is. That, and the age of the area is why exotic plant hunting is best here.

A pleasure to see photos of this famous exotic garden. Her Ceroxylon quindiuensis always made me wonder if I also would be able to grow one here....

Alberto- compare that photo with one made in 2009 on Dave's Garden.com. Kell's 2009 pic shows about 4' of trunk. Now? at least 20',plus 10' or more of stem and fronds. Based on what I've seen of your garden- blue Pylocereus of large size-I think you should be able to grow it. Its if you have hot summers is the limiting factor. They hate near 90f or 30C temps.

Nice Stan love the Brahea armata seemingly just growing on the side of the street.....probably bigger than any growing outside in the UK

I'm willing to bet that's "Super Silver" Kev. My Armata is downright dingy in color by comparison. I could see that Inga had gifted palms to neighbors. What they must have in back yards!
btw- Right now,I'm just glad gophers haven't killed the Brahea so far. Keep the cats hungry..lol...
