wrap up bananas for holiday - poll
Hi
I've got a decision to make.
I'm going on holiday for 2 weeks on 9 November and I'm undecided whether to wrap up my Musas.
It is still quite warm and I will be back before December, when I will definitely wrap them up.
cheers

Obviously there's more danger of a frost where you are than here in London, but I wouldn't bother.
Assuming you're talking about M. basjoo and/or M. sikkimensis, I think the chances are very remote, in November, of a deep enough frost to do anything more than blacken the leaves.
I scarcely protect mine at all anymore. If we have a prolonged spell of -3ÂșC or less this Winter, I'll belt out there and wrap them in fleece. Otherwise, I'll leave them to their own devices.
What I would do before you leave is to give them a deep mulch of organic material, ideally well-rotted manure or garden compost.
