Who said you can't grow these in Brighton! Received some fresh seeds today from down under....well as fresh as a 10,000 mile trek through the post will allow. They're in soak and I'm like a kid at Christmas |

I was over the moon when this sprouted, it did take a few months to sprout. I grow so many plants at once that something sprouts to keep me occupied so I'm not staring with boredom at the slow ones. It grows slowly, but the fact it's growing makes me happy. |

Such a temping plant, but just not really cold hardy enough and another big grower. I saw some recently in the movie Black Mass (about the gangster James Bulger played by Jonny Depp). The scene was Miami Beach in the 70s and a group of Bismarckia stood out like a sore thumb for the botanically educated. Back in those days I'd guess coconut palms or more likely sabal palms would have been growing there. |

I'll make the room for this plant, though not sure it will be that big in my lifetime. I'm hoping this year may be the year it's leaves become more adult like. |

My all time favourite palm. Was out in Barbados in November - and some of the specimens growing there were truly outstanding. Will have to post some pics when I get time. |

I saw loads of these in Orlando last year. Growing a seedling indoors doesn't do this palm justice |

Yeah I know. I saw amazing ones in Thailand and it will probably never look as impressive indoors. I'm happy with my seedling though and it will make a good conservatory plant one day. |

I've seen them grown in Atrium's. Did fine. Same for Triangle palms and Bottle palms in case others want to try growing them indoors. All three are not mistaken for any other palms sp. |
