Californians slash water use.
More then I ever thought they would. Some up to 46%..and all the rest between 28-38% or so. 25% was the goal. I never thought the southland would come around that fast. I know I'm doing almost no watering of the tough plants, and basic hand watering for the jungle types.
Only Mamaku wont accept a cut. I had two good fronds bend after three days of no water..even after watering the kink in the stem stayed. I had to cut them off draped over the under plantings. Two 8' fronds wasted..very green.
Weather here in June-July has been warm to hot and with good muggy humidity. Unusual to have so much this time of year. 90f and hazy, cloudy skys...weird.
