Crotons and whatnots.
Since this is as good as they will look this year, this is how my trial with Croton's has gone. Petra(big leafs) I bought in the spring of 2014. 'Mammy' (wavy leafs) I bought in January. If had been kept outdoors at the nursery under nothing but shadecloth- light gray colored. 'Petra' was 3 in a pot. Its now one is a tight ball of foliage. I have learned that it actually is one of the more tender Croton varietys. Mammy one of the best. How true it was. 'Mammy shed its leafs once summer started- then made dozens of sprouts. I even had to pot up to a 5 gallon pot. The other pics are more of my Florida look sideyard. Ficus 'ruby' Barbados Cherry variegated. All would make good houseplants also.
And the B.armata after a year. For Axel!
Pereskia.Barbados Cherry variegated. Nice comeback from near death- killed to about the roots 2 years ago in winter. These also make good houseplants/greenhouse plants. They can flower and have fruit. I've only gotten it to flower outdoors. Once.
