Frosted Ficus.
It hasn't been singed since 2007. Its been near record cold every night for the last 4 mornings..and they say the next 5 to go. Our coldest late December since 1972. The only plus? 32f is pretty much our record cold for late December. Early December is the part of the year that owns the deep freeze records like 18f. Ficus microcarpa (retusa). Its weepy, while the very similar F.nitida is upright. I should take cuttings because this is the only F.microcarpa I've seen in person. The Ficus that line SF streets are F.nitida,no weep.
Yes,I remember Moe's post of a cold winter down under. Funny, but my pole of Tillandsia bergerii (resembling Moe's)was blown over in the heavy rains a few days ago. The weight of a large number of soaking wet Tillandsia's added to it.
