Re: What's your plant of the moment?
That Desfontainia is fabulous Keith!
Though I have yet to get it through a winter, I'm very pleased with Passiflora x exoniensis I got from Charlie in spring. (Sorry for the bad picture, iPad and bright background).
Eschscholzia californica is still blazing out summer cheer, though I'm constantly removing armfuls of it to stop it swamping the smaller plants. This one is "Red Chief" which has particularly nice glaucous foliage and flowers which go from wine-red through to orange as they age.

My favourite thing this afternoon - Pasiflora gracilens - raised from seed by Chad.

Small growing, hanging pink flowers, came through last winter (mild) in a poly tunnel without dying back.

Re: What's your plant of the moment?
I'm digging the other's POTM. Some choice plants. Today for me is I planted out a D.marginata tri color that I figure if it survived three winters outdoors in a pot- just barely and it takes most of summer to recover- then in ground should be even better. Its better in FF 10b climates..but my front yard microclimate seems better then average for a 10a. Or, those are famous last words .

Re: What's your plant of the moment?
I agree with Stan, I'm enjoying looking at other peoples favourites greatly.
Thanks for the comments regarding my Desfontainia. I first noticed it in the Jungle Garden at Heligan Gardens and once established they will put on a good show. Slow growing at first once settled in they get a romp on.
My favourite at the moment is more for it's sheer cheek in putting a bloom out. It's a seed grown Abutilon hybrid which has done naff all since it was sown by way of growing. But here it is in bloom (and for scale it is in a 5cm pot!)................
On a more serious note Cyrtanthus elatus, Impatiens niamniamensis and Salvia urica are all looking good now.............

It's not the biggest, nor the best that I've seen but I'm well pleased with how my Brugmansia has done this summer, since being planted out in early July.

Re: What's your plant of the moment?
Nice Conrad- its got Peruvian highlands all over it.
This is my Asplenium bulbiferum. Its old.Very old. And almost all those years it was eaten by something..croziers would be taken. I reached my limit after ten years of this- I'm so proactive you know. It was put in this pot. Finally after ages it looks like a fern. You can still see past damage. I know that they can reach up to 4'...this is going to need more time. But nice to see it looking decent. The Cordyline petiolaris is another that's in a pot safe from gophers. Better a pot then dead.

Re: What's your plant of the moment?
I moved this Agave attenuata out of a shady corner where it was neglected. It must be near 15 years old now. Always in a pot.
Later: I rearranged so that the whole head of the Agave is fronting the Cereus. That Cereus? I wanted to take it out of the nice Mexican pot..no way. It wont budge. I also put some kind of Neoregalia to fill in the Agave's pot.

Re: What's your plant of the moment?
Moved Rhipsalis pilocarpus cactus to new palm mounting(old trunk rotted). I grew that Trachy from seed..popped up out of another plants pot..I kept it going. I tried for about 5 minutes this summer to strip that palm. I'm glad I gave up!
