If you have changed to digital but still have pre digital lenses, hang on to them. Recently I had a heavy fall on rocks and smashed a nikon D2x and a very expensive lens (broke in half ) With the insurance money I purchased Nikon D3 body only which has a full frame sensor and I am now using my pre digital lenses, this has saved a lot of money so my advise is don't get rid of your old lenses The D3 and now the D700 with a virtually noise free ISO rating of 6400 has made a big differnce in my photography enabling the use of very high shutter speeds, partially reducing the need to carry a tripod on treks, reducing wind movement on macro work, super in low light and with long telefoto lens, I feel this is the way all digital cameras will go. frank in a wet, wet SW UK |

Relived to hear your accident ended on a positive note Frank. Sounds encouraging. I won't be moving to DSLR for a while yet, its just too much $$. |
