Post Digital cameras
I'm looking at purchasing a replacement digital camera.
For the most part I'm just a 'point and shoot' kinda guy, so don't really feel the need to go to the expense of a digital SLR. However I do want the pics to be as crisp as possible and have the option of clear macro shots.

I've had a look around and thought that the Fujifilm FinePix S1500 Digital Camera seems quite good especially for the price (£115), but being a complete novice am unsure. I should add that £115 isn't my limit pricewise.

Do you guys have any thoughts on this one or something similar?

i've heard that the Nikon coolpixes are great for of the best in the range of compact digital camera's. (that's what i've heard  ). but for the price of a more advanced coolpix you can almost by one of the slr from Nikon, the Nikon D3000 (€ 338.60).

I cannot help as I am still using my Pentax 750 Z compact camera which still sells for over £100 on e-bay for a 6 year old camera.

I spoke with Peter Richardson the other day and he is using a Canon Powershot S5 IS and suffice it to say his picture always looke fantastic.

I use Steve's Digicams for camera reviews.

I just realised I'd never thanked you guys for your suggestions.

I ended up going for a Panasonic Lumix with 12x optical zoom.
I still need to play around with it a bit, but so far I'm happy with it, as its more than capable of meeting my needs and is compact enough to still fit in a pocket.
