Still an unusually cold winter here, and a long one. Today forecast high of 17C, which is getting closer to what we would expect this stage of late winter. We've only hit 20C once in the last 8 weeks, and had many days that didn't quite hit 10C. I hate winter.

We got to 107 degrees on Tues. with 110 on Wed. and we broke the all time record! We have also surpassed the record of 12 days above 90 for the month of July and we still have Aug and Sept. heat ahead of us!! So whomever is hogging all the rain, return it to those of us in the PNW as our webbed feet are all dried up.

Brookings typically has depressed temperatures when there are heat waves in the vicinity. Today is no exception. We had a high temp. of 14C on the coast while on "the other side of the hill" -- a 2 hr. drive inland -- it got up to 44C. Nothing but fog and chill for us, though.
