As usual, that rain didn't reach this far south. Corfu and NW Greece are some of the wettest places in Europe, but Athens is (thankfully) far away. It only rained here twice in November.

One of those odd nights of late fall when all of Japan is around the same temperature.

Barrie, I'm not sure if it is typical or not. Here's the graphed data for the years 1890 to 2006 showing average annual temperature for Fukuoka City. There has been a pretty steady increase overall since 1940-45. This same pattern holds for Kyushu and no doubt much of Japan.

Believe it or not Tom, the same applies to my area. The grafic would be the same for here only on a lower level but still paralel to "your" line.

At the beginning of this time frame extreme winters were about -20°C as absolute lows (nowadays around "only" -10/-12°C) and summer temps were then around +15°C in july on average (nowadays on average slightly above +20°C)
The world changes definitely and everywhere.

Can't compare to the UK lately, but the coldest morning yet, down to 1.2 C locally and 2.9 C in the city. Frost across Kyushu this morning.

I heard they got cold right into the Lebenon region lately as cold weather dropped down into the Mediterranean.

Cheers, Barrie.
