Post Heaviest Frost this year - Christchurch
Hi all,

I woke this morning to something i did not want to see, so i ran to my weatherstation console to see what the temp was and it said -4.7°c / 23.5°f now to many of you in Europe and the U.K you would say thats not very cold and you are probably used to seeing this on a yearly basis, but to me its very cold and rare to see it drop to nearly -5°c in the city. I am expecting losses - especially Rhopalostylis seedlings. This will also test to the limit my Dypsis decipiens palms - lets see how tough they really are !

My Queen Palm will be tested here as well - it might be defoliated after this ? - Queens take a few days to show damage so i will see what happens Unhappy

This event will weed out the strong from the weak, so i can always put a positive spin on things and whatever i lose i will not buy again.

I will post in coming days the damaged and the dead and show you what survived.

I can already see my Rhopies going downhill.
