What an amazing place............Heaven, I wonder how many people are employed there to keep it looking so special.

Re: East Ruston Old Vicarage gardens
David, the fern is Adiantum aleuticum from North America. Deciduous in winter but fully hardy in the UK.

Red Hot Poker. Yes, looks like Kniphofia caulescens to me And they do tend to do that. Die at the base and fall over. But mine never re-root like that.

Re: East Ruston Old Vicarage gardens
One of my favourite gardens. Inspirational.
Incidentally, the garden with succulents is 'The Desert Wash' - the 'Mediterranean Garden' is another bit. Or, at least, it was unless they renamed it. I remember going to the opening do when there were very few plants - you could see how beautifully they had graded the stones and contoured the landscape to imitate a desert wash and the biggest feature then was the 'stegosaurus' bridge.

Yet again Kev, some excellent pictures. I love this garden, haven't been for a couple of years so maybe try this year.

Re: East Ruston Old Vicarage gardens
Kev.... sorry late to the party. Wow what a post. The Xeric area is amazing. I could spend a whole day there Trying to get my head around what those two tall Nolina were. Could they be hibernica? Thanks for taking the time and effort Kev and on a nice hot day forecast I must make a trip there

Re: East Ruston Old Vicarage gardens
We did mention your name as we walked round thinking you might like the spikies.....surprised to see such an array of plants the Euphorbia made a nice foil for the whole area this plant grows in such difficult places. In Lanzarote it is somtimes the only plant growing in the black rock lava fields something I cannot replicate as here it would out grow my yucca's in an instant.

Impressive place. Thanks for taking the time to take, process and upload all these images. It looks like you had a good time and a frolic on the beach to boot. Who was babysitting Andy?
