Re: A Schefflera update
Stan... That's Schefflera taiwaniana at Keith and Melissa's garden. I still have a Schefflera Taiwaniana in a pot. It came from Mark Fillan. Its leaf shape is so different to the Crug and Pan Global plants being quite thick leaved. I am debating whether to plant this out as well

Re: A Schefflera update
And just to add to the confusion;
What was originally distributed as Schefflera impressa is Schefflera rhododendrifolia.
The 'impressa' name was a bit dubious anyway. They are all the same plant, but the name was invalid. It had been described as Heptapleurum impressum, and separately as Schefflera rhododendrifolia. Once it was agreed it was a Schefflera, it should have been called Schefflera rhododendrifolia universally.
Just for fun, if Schefflera is broken up [as botanically it probably needs to be], there is a good chance it will go back to being Heptapleurum impressum!
Clive at distributed many under the Schefflera impressa name before anyone else had shown much interest in the genus.
Chad.

Re: A Schefflera update
Here are my mine. I lost one this winter. Not sure why but it ended up being a lifeless stick with a very small root system. Regards, Phil.

Re: A Schefflera update
Phil / Carmel looking good some nice flushes you have there. I am convinced Schefflera do not like water logged roots in winter, I also have lost a few that ended up a dead stick, but all the plants in the drier areas seem to be fine.

Re: A Schefflera update
Only watered twice this year since we are getting plenty of rain. I don't think I'll get a second flush since all three growth buds have set a bloom.
May = 6.89" (17.5cm) June thru the 19th = 3.27" (8.3cm) and raining again today

Re: A Schefflera update
Sorry, only just caught up with this thread. Thanks is for the info about winter wet. The area this S. Taiwaniana was situated got quite wet in winter so I think that explains it. Regards, Phil.
