Tree Ferns in San Francisco..
In and around Golden Gate Park. Howea's and D.A.'s.
Live D.A. trunk
Dead D.A. trunk.
All I can figure is that fog condenses on those CIDP.and that is enough for Coprosma repens I think it is,to grow as an epiphyte.

There are some seriously old ferns there Stan any idea's as to age? Cracking pictures thanks for showing us it looks a lovely place to walk round.

Thanks Kev..you should try to make it to SF one day. September is the best month of the year to visit.
Ben,That epiphyte growth only is seen in the fog belt for the most part. Once you start to get away from it,CIDP are clean. Although I did see Brazilian pepper tree on some Date palms at the local golf course.
