Xanthorrhea australis inflorescence
In another topicc Kev Spence said ''Wow Alberto that is an impressive inflorescence does the flower emerge from the very centre of the plant does it have any distinctive smell to it?''
The inflorescence is huge, and is now a little more then 3 meters height . Yes, it seems to emerge from the centre of the plant. The little flowers are opening the last days. When there are a substantial number of them opened, I´ll take a ladder and smell the inflorescence
The first native bee seeking for nectar

Re: Xanthorrhea australis inflorescence
The smell isn´t fantastic but despite this hundreds of jataí bees are seeking for nectar and pollen on the little flowers

Nice Alberto there must be thousands of flowers on that inflorescence an unusual sight for anyone to see from the UK. Do you have to protect the plant for winter?
