Happened to me too.
Probably something to do with the option to have new replys to a post emailed to the original poster.
Otherwise known as gremlins!

Ah so it's not just me. I also initially had this error when registering, but Peter sorted that out pronto.
I'm just trying a variety of browsers to try to narrow it down to me or the board settings.
What're you guys using? This is Safari, the previous one was Firefox which is my standard browser.

Interesting, that worked perfectly without any errors.
Anyone else?

FYI Camino also works without any errors at all, and the forum looks entirely different! Ah It coincided with Peter changing something. Blue on Black, we're getting closer to feeling at home.
I shall have to check firefox again to see if the posting issue is solved.
Yes I know I should be working, but still...

The error with me only shows up in Firefox. I haven't tried IE as I'm on a mac at present (no groans please, it's work!). I'm seeing lots of errors in the console as well, so clearly firefox doesn't like it! Oh well I shall have to use Camino - sorry I can't use Safari it's dire!
So far two then, IE7 and Firefox 2.0.x.x
Any others?

Typical, belay that last message (is there an edit button?). I just changed the security settings on firefox to accept pop-up windows from this site and lo and behold. That was the only thing changed.
So perhaps if you have a look at your settings there it might solve the problem.
HTH

ps mods feel free to delete the drivel immediately above this as it's OT.

Jan -
are you still having problems? Anyone else? It will be a relief to have someone around who can deduce what to twiddle by way of configurations to resolve the error messages faster than I can!

Yep, the same error message. Never mind, as long as my replies get posted, I don't mind seeing the error message.

I'm on at last, hooray. Have had trouble getting the account working.
I'm getting the same error message:
Failed sending email :: PHP ::
DEBUG MODE
Line : 234 File : emailer.php
I'm running IE6 under XP.
Anyway, hello everyone.

OK bear with us, this is exactly the same software that powered UKOasis, which of course worked perfectly smoothly so it must just be some aspect of board configuration that needs tweaking. We should get it resolve in a day or two.

David, I was curious where you were especially after it was you who directed me to this new forum

I've been watching with great pleasure as about 20 people to whom I sent e-mails and PMs signed up on here, in some cases within minutes of me hitting "send". But I've also been sitting here in steaming frustration because I haven't been able to say
WELCOME EVERYONE.
The first three or four members who joined set up their accounts before Peter reset the self-activation feature and it turned out that existing accounts weren't reset, so Peter had to figure out how to overcome this. Seems to be OK now.
