It's time to update the misterious tree fern, it has unusaully dark scale with distict sphaeropteris characteristics as it develops. trunk forming stage is coming soon Steve, I'm curious to know how is the parent speciment in the UK now ? by , on Flickr

Here's the parent fern that provided the spore for George's healthy looking youngster. This is just the top portion of the trunk - it's massive!

Great Fern George, looking really good, I am surprised at the growth rate, its no slouch.
Here's my C. Mexicana sporophyte's greatly contributed by a member of this board (Thanks Trevor) hopefully it's what they are supposed to be, sowed on the 1st June 14.

Long time no update for this, this 'mexicana' is now nearly 5 years, and it grows spore this years.
Time flies fast, but some thing will not change, like this 'specie'. A tribute to Steve Pope.
